Legal apprentice Jide Ajibola tells us about his first two months with BBC Worldwide.
When I was in year 10 at school, a lady from a well-established law firm gave a talk to my class about a new career path into law; the apprenticeship route. I thought it was a good idea but still had in mind that I would go to University as I assumed this would be best.
I have been employed as a solicitor apprenticeship with ITV’s in-house legal department for six months. I applied for the apprenticeship because I wanted to gain valuable practical legal experience as well as getting the necessary qualifications to become a fully qualified solicitor.
I am employed by HMRC as a legal apprentice and have been following the Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services for three months.
I have done five months of my legal apprenticeship with the BBC, and have a two-year contract with them.
Jessica Parlour is currently doing a Paralegal Apprenticeship with HMRC. She previously completed a Legal Administration Apprenticeship, also delivered by CILEx Law School.
