I left the Army after 22 years of service having enrolled with CILEx Law School on my first CILEx courses a year before I left the Army. These gave me the foot in the door that I needed to get into the world of law. I started off in the courts service in Fine Enforcement and then moved to work in the Commercial Recoveries team at Blake Lapthorn, a law firm with a national reputation listed in the Legal 500.

I joined the Royal Navy after leaving school with only GCSEs and AS level Psychology. After serving for ten years I decided to try to fulfil my niggling desire to pursue a career in law. My research led me to the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) and CILEx Law School (CLS).
