Legal units are a six-week based assignments. You will have a manual to read through and access to the course page on your VLE. When you feel confident enough on the unit, you can send us your assignment request form.
When we receive your request form for each unit, we will send it to you within five working days.
These are supervised assignment so you will need to arrange for a supervisor to support you. This can be any professional person as long as they are not living with you nor related to you. The assessment is sent directly to your supervisor. However, the assignment does not need to be taken in timed, controlled conditions but should take no longer than three hours to complete, excluding your research time. You will need to ask your supervisor to complete a witness statement form to confirm that you have taken the recommended time to complete the assignment. You will be given a six-week period in which to carry out all research and write up your assignment.
When you have completed your assignment, you will need to upload it to the VLE under the course page where your tutor will be able to mark it electronically.
For units 220, 221 and your optional legal unit, please be advised that you have two attempts for each of these units where the full grade ranges are available (Pass, Merit, Distinction). Unfortunately, if you fail both of these attempts, your result will then be capped at a Pass grade for your next attempt. This applies to unit 222 also, however you have three attempts where the full grade ranges are available.
We recommend that you work on one unit at a time. Then once you have passed one, you can move on to the next unit.
