Using the CILEx Level 3 Certificate to get into law – Sabiha Jawad

I was in the final year of studying for an open-learning degree (nothing to do with law) when I heard about CILEx, but it seemed so right for me that I actually enrolled on my first CILEx Law School course straight away, so that my studies overlapped with each other.

I have three children aged 13, 11 and 7 and was working full time whilst pursuing my studies, so it was a busy time!

Due to having studied my CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice I was able to get a job in a law firm. I have now completed the full CILEx professional qualification, including the CILEx Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice and am now a Graduate Member. My qualification is recognised by my employer and I am now working as an associate at Ratna and Co. Solicitors which was the second Asian firm to open in East London in 1989.

My learning experience with CILEx Law School was very good. I found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable and the structure of qualification is easy to understand, both from the advice given to me by their staff and from their website. After completing Level 6, I am now upgrading my qualification through CILEx in order to fulfil the academic stage of becoming a Notary Public.

I recommend the CILEx route to others because the support and materials on offer from CILEx Law School are expertly delivered. One can work at a law firm, join CILEx, gain the required experience, qualify as a Fellow, enrol on the LPC and become a solicitor without the need to do a training contract.
