A special mention for the January 2014 exam results goes to Sarah Dickens who achieved 100% in her Law of Tort exam in January, and 94% in the Practice of Family Law. This follows on from achieving 95% in Family Law in June last year. We contacted Sarah to ask about her circumstances and what she thought contributed to her success.
“I chose distance learning through CILEx Law School because of the flexibility it offered, as I have young children. I think your courses are fantastic and I love studying them. I feel I should give credit for my 100% in the tort exam to the really excellent manual, and the tutor’s response to my queries on the forum. The tutors at the Law of Tort and Practice of Family Law revision sessions in London prior to the January exams were great. With CILEx Law School’s distance learning courses it’s all there for you if you want to take it.
I worked as a social policy researcher for many years. I was always interested in retraining in law at some point ,but wasn’t sure if it was affordable for me until I heard about the CILEx qualifications. I am currently volunteering at Avon and Bristol Law Centre. They are a fantastic organisation peopled by dedicated staff who have a strong sense of social justice, who took me on when I had no prior legal experience. I’ve learned a lot there. I’m now looking for a paid job and hopefully my exam results will stand me in good stead.”
