We are among six organisations in the running for the Supporting the Industry 26+ Employees category.
It is the third time in succession that CLS has been shortlisted for a Supporting the Industry Award, with us winning at the 2017/18 awards and being highly commended in 2016.
Judges were impressed with this year’s submission, focusing on our dedicated, free apprenticeship recruitment service for our client organisations.
The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester on Thursday, 31 January 2019.
Our shortlisting is the latest national recognition in what has been a landmark year for CILEx Law School.
As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, last month we were highly commended in the Supplier of the Year (Business Services) category at the British Legal Awards.
And in April, CLS claimed the Diversity and Inclusion prize at the LexisNexis Awards.
CILEx Law School students’ results continue to surpass the overall CILEx pass rate, with some great performances in the January and June exam sessions.
Among those succeeding in the latter was Kate Mortimer-Coles, who became the first member of CLS’ Customer Service Team to become a Graduate Member of CILEx. All members of our Customer Service Team are offered the opportunity to enrol on CLS courses so that they can advise current and prospective students with confidence.
Kate was among 276 Graduates and Fellows whose achievements were officially recognised at the CILEx Graduation and Fellowship Admission event in October.
Most importantly, throughout 2018 we have continued in our mission to offer opportunities in the legal profession to people of all ages and background.
We currently have more than 3,500 people studying via distance learning with us, most of whom are gaining their qualifications alongside full-time work.
And our September 2018 intake brought the number of apprentices we are teaching to almost 500, with a further 93 being inducted into our client organisations in the new year.
Best wishes to all students, apprentices and clients for Christmas and the New Year, and good luck to those studying over the Christmas period for CILEx exams next month.
