Claire Bond has just achieved her CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice. She tells us how it is helping her career to develop.
“I began my career in law as a legal secretary whilst studying for a Masters in Sports Science. When I didn’t manage to get work in that area, I decided to use the CILEx route to develop a career in law instead. My employer agreed to sponsor me through the CILEx route, and my current role as a litigation executive was created to give me hands-on experience of working in the law whilst I was studying. As I progress through my studies I am given more responsibility and am able to take on a wider variety of work.
Having now completed my Level 3 Professional Diploma, I handle all new civil enquiries and filter them through to my colleagues. I have my own caseload of approximately 25 clients. I mainly deal with personal injury cases, specifically road traffic accidents and slip/ trip cases.
I have already enrolled on my first set of Level 6 courses and it is my intention to achieve the Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice and to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive.
I have had a very positive experience of studying through the CILEX Law School and would recommend it to anyone wanting to pursue a career in law. The Level 3 units provide a solid foundation upon which to build when you reach Level 6. I would strongly recommend anyone considering studying with CILEx to start at Level 3 and work their way up.”
