The graduation ceremony for Cycle 1 of the Professional Diploma in Legal Executive Studies took place in Hong Kong on 3 December 2011.
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUSCS) and the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) of England and Wales have jointly offered the 2-year part-time “Professional Diploma Programme in Legal Executive Studies” since 2009. Graduates are eligible to use the title of “Legal Executive”.
Officiating at the Ceremony, Mr Noel Inge, Managing Director of CILEx Law School quoted Winston Churchill, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference” and encouraged graduates to maintain their perseverance and positive attitude and to demonstrate their ability to make a big difference in the future.
Dr Brandon Ng, Associate Director of the School, said the work experience and continuing studies would empower graduates in their life journey as well as making significant contributions to the workplace and the wider community. He encouraged them to keep on with their quest for knowledge.
The Professional Diploma Programme provides an ideal route for working professionals and qualified Form 5 graduates to pursue successful careers as Legal Executives in legal practice, business, government or law enforcement sectors. It also offers an excellent starting point for further studies in the legal field.
The Programme was specifically designed and accredited to meet the Benchmark Standards for Legal Executive Courses stipulated by The Law Society of Hong Kong. Graduates of this Programme are eligible to use the title of “Legal Executive”. Students who achieve a good pass in this Programme will also fulfil the entrance requirements of the University of London International Programme LLB and other law degree programmes of universities in England.
CILEx Law School has been working with tertiary institutions in Hong Kong for over 20 years.
