First exam results confirm validity of legal apprenticeship route

The exam results for the first cohort of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services have been announced by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) today. Apprentices being taught by CILEx Law School have achieved a pass rate of over 90% in the CILEx Level 3 Unit 1 Introduction to Law and Practice exam, with 78% achieving distinctions or merits.

Kim Morrison, Academic Manager at CILEx Law School, said: “We are delighted that these young people have achieved such a good performance in their first CILEx exam. This bodes very well for the future.”

Jenny Pelling, Business Director at CILEx Law School, said: “These results indicate that the Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services is a valid route into the legal profession for bright young people who are prepared to work hard, and we congratulate all those who contributed to this result.”
The apprentices will sit exams in law and practice in June, and are continually assessed on the competence element of the apprenticeship.
