I appreciate that this is a worrying time for everyone as we all try to manage our personal response to Covid-19.
I wanted to update you on the measures CILEx Law School (CLS) is taking and how they will impact your studies with us.
Our overriding aim in all of our decision making is to protect the health of our students and staff, so CILEx have today decided to postpone all forthcoming exams, and CLS has moved to online teaching sessions as follows:
CILEx Level 3 and 6 examinations
Exams that were due to take place between 8 – 12 June 2020 will now take place between 7- 11 September 2020.
Results will be released on 13 November 2020.
Please rest assured that we will be automatically extending to September the courses of those students affected by the postponement of the June exams.
As a result, all revision sessions planned for April will be postponed and we are currently putting plans in place for online delivery of these sessions at a later date. We intend to make an announcement on this by 3 April.
Induction and skills workshops
All inductions and skills workshops from March to end of June are being moved from face-to-face delivery to online.
Further details on arrangements for the online sessions will be provided by 23 March.
Exam results for Level 3 and 6 students
The release of exam results to those of you who sat Level 3 and Level 6 exams in January is unaffected. The results will be released as planned on Friday 27 March at 10am.
The results will only be available online via the myCILEx portal. In order to access the results, all students are required to have pre-registered in the portal beforehand.
We encourage students not to delay and to register as soon as possible.
We will be running our Results Helpline as usual, but please remember that we are likely to have reduced staffing and that our response rate may therefore be slower.
Currently, we are processing all enrolments as usual. However, if this changes we will make an announcement on our website.
We’re currently operating as normal and students can contact us during office hours via all the usual channels.
In common with many education providers across the country, everyone at CLS is adapting their working practices in line with current Government advice and will continue to do so. As a distance learning provider, we are well placed to continue to deliver remotely.
We will work very hard to deliver as full a service as possible to students, but we would ask that you be patient with us if you experience some reduced service levels over the coming weeks.
Everyone at CLS fully recognises that the need to postpone the exams will be hugely disappointing for those of you who have been working towards these. However, in light of the many challenges we are all facing as a society, CILEx had to take decisive action.
Please be reassured that your training is always at the centre of everything we do. We have to be realistic that some disruption to your studies is possible and we will be doing whatever we can to minimise this.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families well. Covid-19 is going to undoubtedly be a huge challenge, yet we will get through this by looking after one another.
