Not just talking the talk

Whilst CILEx Law School is raising the profile of apprenticeships amongst legal services organisations, it is also benefitting from employing its own apprentices in its Customer Service Department.

Kathryn Jack was taken on as an apprentice in March 2012 and has now completed her Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration and has been taken on as a permanent member of staff in the Customer Service Team.

Yasmin Hussain has been employed as an apprentice since July 2012 and has just been awarded an ‘Oscar’ for the Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 2 Academic Student of the year by Bedford College. The award is based on the grades she achieved in the academic element of the apprenticeship programmes.

Yasmin said: “I was surprised and delighted to receive the Oscar. It has been really helpful to see how the theory that I have been learning in my studies is applied in practice while working in the Customer Service Team.”

Ruby Denton, Customer Service Manager at CILEx Law School, said: “Yasmin and Kathryn have both made an excellent contribution to our Customer Service Team. They have been keen and enthusiastic and extremely quick on the uptake, as well as eager to learn.”

Noel Inge, Managing Director of CILEx Law School added: “I am delighted that Yasmin’s hard work has been recognised. At CILEx Law School we are not just talking the talk regarding the benefits of employing apprentices, but also walking the walk. Our own experience with our Business Administration apprentices has confirmed the value of this type of employee in an office environment.”

The Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Legal Administration
The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services
The Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Legal Services
