Law firm Thomas Eggar is to recruit a further legal services apprentice this summer. The new apprentice will take over the role of Danielle Owen, who started with the firm in September 2013. Danielle has completed her Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services and is being promoted to the role of Trainee Legal Executive. The Advanced Apprenticeship includes CILEx units which contribute to the first stage of Chartered Legal Executive training, so Danielle has already achieved some elements of the qualification.
Danielle has been employed in the property practice group, in the firm’s Gatwick office.
Georgina Naylor, HR Manager for Thomas Eggar said: “When we took on our first legal apprentices last year our intention from the beginning was to bring local young people into the business who we could train to be the fee earners of the future. Danielle’s success in passing the knowledge and competence elements of the apprenticeship has given her an excellent grounding on which to build. Her progress over the past two years has really proved the apprenticeship route for us as a means of bringing in young talent.”
The new apprentice will be taught by CILEx Law School who have been Thomas Eggar’s apprenticeship provider over the past two years. Jenny Pelling, Business Director of CILEx Law School said: “Advanced Apprenticeships were only introduced in September 2013 and we are seeing the first intake complete their qualifications. Danielle’s experience at Thomas Eggar is a great example of how innovative firms can use the Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services to recruit and develop bright school leavers. We look forward to working with the new recruit who will start with the firm in September.”
Recruitment has already started through Vision Apprentices.
