Tutor Mary Langhorne stops marking after 29 years

One of our freelance tutors, Mary Langhorne, has retired after 29 years of tutoring students for CILEx Law School. Mrs Langhorne began marking scripts when CILEx Law School first started up as a distance learning college in 1983.

During most of her 29 years’ service, study assignments were handwritten scripts sent by post to be marked in ink. In recent years these have changed to word-processed documents emailed for electronic marking.

Mrs Langhorne said: “I really enjoyed all the tutoring and I am sad I can no longer continue. The contact with students has been most rewarding.”

CILEx Law School has over 3,000 students enrolled  on its supported distance learning courses. Over 80 freelance tutors are contracted to provide expert marking and feedback across law, practice and professional skills courses at various academic levels.
