This area of legal practice benefits from one of the new legal apprenticeship standards:
The programme is designed to deliver the knowledge, skills and behaviour to meet the Paralegal Apprenticeship Standard. It is aimed at school leavers who have the maturity to study law and possess good written English, paralegals or other current employees in administration or customer service who have the potential for development and those who have already completed an intermediate apprenticeship.
For those employees who are not eligible for legal apprenticeship funding, the courses which are of most relevance are our CILEx Level 6 courses. These are in-depth courses which can be studied as CILEx Level 6 Single Subject Certificates by qualified practitioners, in-house legal staff or senior paralegals moving into this area of legal practice. Trainee Chartered Legal Executives can also use the courses towards the Level 6 stage of their training.
We anticipate that most practitioners in the corporate arena will already have studied law to some level, and so we do not specifically recommend any Level 3 courses. However, if you do have unqualified staff who wish to study at Level 3 then we would recommend the CILEx Level 3 courses in:
