We educate, train and develop students to become outstanding legal professionals.

Our focus is on providing them with the technical expertise and business, technology and relationship skills required to both make an immediate impact in the workplace and build a rewarding career.

We are specialists in blended learning, supporting students at all levels of the profession – from school-leavers, apprentices and graduates to experienced paralegals and senior legal professionals with practice rights. Established in 1983, we support around 3,000 students at any one time, making us the largest provider of CILEX-focused legal education anywhere.

Our courses are rooted in a detailed understanding of the CILEX Professional Competency Framework and the latest developments and trends in the legal sector. In line with CILEX’s vision, CILEX Law School aims to help break down the barriers to entry into the legal profession. Our courses are open to anyone, regardless of their previous academic attainment, and we actively support students from under-represented groups and backgrounds in forging rewarding and successful careers in law.

Many of our students combine their studies with a paid role, usually in a legal practice, a public-sector body or a business with a requirement for legal knowledge, and our approach and flexible course delivery are designed to support this. Our students are often sponsored by their employers, and we maintain strong relationships with training managers to ensure that training is matched to business needs.

Our programmes

We offer high-quality distance-learning programmes for the three stages of the recently launched CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ) – Foundation, Advanced and Professional. We also continue to support students who have already embarked on all legacy CILEX Level 3 and CILEX Level 6 units and who wish to continue with these qualifications.

In addition, we work closely with law firms, legal disciplinary partnerships and ABSs to provide tailored training for specific business objectives, including delivering employer’s in-house academies.
